Our Research:

We know that less than 40% of people with depression respond to their first treatment with an antidepressant. There is also no way for clinicians to determine whether one antidepressant will be more beneficial than another. iSPOT-D is the largest international research study ever undertaken into Major Depressive Disorder that aims to develop a simple assessment tool to help health care professionals to prescribe each individual onto the right medication first go. Our site is one of 18 sites world-wide.

What is involved:

Your Clinician will be sent reports and asked to prescribe and titrate the medication. As this is a research project you will be randomized to one of three commonly prescribed medications (escitalopram SSRI, venlafaxine XR SNRI, and sertraline SSRI) on your first visit.

This research study is free of charge and participants are reimbursed for travel expenses and time.
